The piece I currently just finished is at the framers, but I thought I share this one that I did before for Christmas. I love this Mill Hill sampler. It has been always one of my favorites! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
My entry to the National Counted Cross Stitch Show Original Design Category. I couldn't believe that a simple design like this could win the top prize. I only entered it to participate. I never expected to win anything.
This is my Heartfelt Sampler for 2009. Done on 40 ct. natural linen. This is only a half stitch over one thread. It contains motifs of some of my favorite things and not so favorite things. The "WHOA 47" was the license number of my 35th Anniversary Mustang which was retired this year. My stitching club will be surprised that I got my Challenge Piece entry done for the year and it is only July. Now I qualify for our drawing at the end of the year. We each contribute $5 per piece and the winner gets all the money in the pot. I was committed to it by putting the year 2009 in the piece early on, so I had to finish it before the year was up. Finished on July 23, 2009.
I finally found out the name of this sampler. It is called October Sky Sampler by Elixabeth's Designs. Finally done! I finished stitching this piece, but of course, I am six days behind Janet. But it was worth it because I had a great time at the campground this weekend. Now I am looking for a treasure box to insert this piece in the top. Most of them are either too small or not the right color.
At the end of the third week (or rather two days into the fourth), here is my progress on my Stitch Along that I'm doing with Janet. As usual, I'm behind her in stitching. I would like to catch up this week while I'm on vacation. But I need to do pre-work for Betsy Evans Hardanger class.
My friend Janet and I decided to do the same piece and do it together as a Stitch Along. We stitch on it when we go to our Stitch-In Club on Monday nights, and we stitch up to an certain point the following week at home. I must admit that Janet is ahead of me. Posted is Stage One's progress as of 05/25/09.
I am always looking for interesting web pages. This is a collection of pages that I found particularly interesting. Sometimes practical information, sometimes awe inspiring, and sometimes memorable moments, and sometimes just very funny. :-)
